Thatching in miniature. With the huge interest in
small thatched roof's dove cotes, dolls houses & bird tables
I am now able to supply materials capable of the same detail
as this - coco fibre will be more durable, it is
even suitable for out door use with perfect scale size and detail. I already have done an
instruction
booklet for larger scale thatching, the methods are the same, just scale
down form any source of thatching techniques-
see DIY
For those only wanting the material see below.

A before and after dolls house renovation
with a 'Tudor style' thatched roof and a new 1/24 scale 'Irish' cottage 1/48 is also possible - all man made fibre, a type of faux fur
glued onto expanded polystyrene sheet . If you
have tried 'thatching' at this scale you will know how hard it is to get thickness and detail right,
any shape, size, or design can be replicated. You can fit over an existing roof as shown or
build one. inside use only, No special skills required. Suitable for 4
inches to 12 feet. Simple bird table design, one in straw, one in
heather and one waiting to be thatched. Almost any fibrous 12" long material
can be used |
